THE Carlos Tevez 'saga'

Tuesday 27th September 2011 was the date, the date Manchester City fans will remember as the first real time one of their beloved millionaires ego let itself get the better of him, his team-mates, his manager, his fans and his club.

Tevez looks enthralled at the evenings action.

City had begun only their second ever UEFA Champions League outing, at the beautiful venue of The Allianz Arena, with the customary 4-4-2 formation, with the wealth of talent Roberto Mancini has at his disposal, especially going forward it was to nobodies surprise when Carlos Tevez was again named as a substitute, allowing the continuance of the already prolific Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero to flourish.
In reality, City were taught a Champions League lesson, by some real big boys in the competition, 2010's beaten finalists showed their class and experience by punishing City's wiltering defense and two Mario Gomez goals were enough to see Bayern through to victory. Except, neither of the goals were talking points, nor were any of the 22 players who took to the field Tuesday night.
Carlos Tevez refused his managers order to come on as a substitute, agreed a lot is getting caught up in the confusion of Edin Dzeko's anger at being subbed, but in my opinion that should be forgotten, it's about Tevez, his point blank refusal and pure ignorance and selfishness towards his team. I am a big believer in language barriers, (speaking a little Spanish myself - i may add) but what Tevez claims as confusion is outrageous, besides, if you've warmed up, sat down, and are asked to warm up again, by any manager, let alone Roberto Mancini, you do so, that is what, after all, you are being paid over £250,000 a week to do!
Any worker in any profession who refuses their manager should be punished, fined, banned perhaps even sacked, i heard an interesting point over the week, in which dug up the question;
Was Carlos Tevez thinking of those Manchester City away fans sitting in Germany who some had paid £1000 to be there that night?

The quick, and obvious answer, is no, I'm afraid there is no respect there at all, not thinking of anyone but himself, imagine a United player refusing Sir Alex!? A Liverpool player refusing 'King' Kenny or a Real
Madrid player refusing Mourinho (God forbid, picture the scenes!).

I for one, really respected Carlos Tevez as a player, the hardworking, industrious, sheer skill he showed week in week out with City has been terrific, but he has undone everything here, in one silly minute.
His next step refusing to apologise? To say he had done nothing wrong!? I was very happy to see the 'Tevez Out' sign being held high by City fans in Saturdays away win at Blackburn, it was genuinely pleasant to hear their combined support for Mancini, to lose fans like that, it is difficult to see the former skipper ever in a sky blue shirt again.
In all it was a horrific moment for football, just highlighting the issues Premier League, and other high earning leagues around the world face, they are losing contact with where they came from, the £400,000 of what would have been Carlos Tevez's two week wage salary has been donated to local Manchester charities, which is relieving news. But it will mean nothing to Tevez, who has proved where his loyalties lie, he went for the summer headlines, didn't get his outcome, so threw his dummy out the pram one step further this time, unfortunately, it was one step far too far. And to be honest, judging by Mancini's and City fans alike reactions, no one really wants him around anymore. Step up Messes Dzeko, Aguero and Balotelli, because Carlos will not be around for much longer!
